History of Trader Vic’s

Trader Vic's has a remarkable history of success and innovation. It all began in 1934 when Vic "The Trader" Bergeron opened a cozy saloon called Hinky Dinks in Oakland, California. After refining his bartending skills in Cuba and studying rums from around the world, Vic transformed Hinky Dinks into the tropical retreat known as Trader Vic's. He introduced island-style cuisine, pioneering the concept of fusion restaurants.

As Trader Vic's gained popularity, it expanded internationally. In 1963, it opened at London's Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, followed by successful ventures in the Middle East in 1994.
